Tattoo Contests

 These are the final rules and categories determined by the judges.


Due to overwhelming demand, 

all tattoos are permitted.

  1. You must be 18 years of age to enter.
  2. Each entry is $15.
  3. Contests will be held and winners announced DAILY.
  4. There will be a "Tattoo of the Day" contest every day.  Those winners are the entries for the winner of "Best in Show".
  5. Rule sets are below each category.

CATEGORIES

Below are the categories. The Schedule of Events is below with the start time and day of each competition.  Each competition winner is for the best of each category.  There will be 1st and 2nd place for the categories, except Tattoo of the Day and Best in Show.  Those will only be 1st place winners.


Friday, October 11, 2019 @ 8:00pm


  • Tattoo of the Day - Friday 

  1. Only fresh pieces will be accepted, started and finished that day.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  3. All styles are accepted.
  4. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, grey, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.


  • Lettering

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  3. Checking for creativity, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), lines and technique. 


  • Black Work / Geometric

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Checking for creativity, color pack (black), straight lines, curves, dots, and technique.


  •  Tribal / Maori / Polynesian 

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Checking for creativity, color pack (black), straight lines, curves, and technique.


  • Dot Work

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Checking for creativity, dots, and technique.
  4. Lines will not be accepted.


  • Full Back Piece

  1. All styles accepted.
  2. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  3. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  4. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (color or black), contrast, highlights, and technique. 


  • Traditional / Old School

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  3. Checking for color pack, contrast, highlights, rules of Old School and technique. 



Saturday, October 12, 2019 @ 8:00pm


  • Tattoo of the Day - Saturday

  • Watercolor

  3. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, colors, contrast, highlights, textures, and technique.
  4. Color theory used will be evaluated.


  • Portrait

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Photo used must be shown for comparison.
  4. Color and black & gray will be accepted.
  5. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.


  • Neo Traditional

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  3. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.
  4. Color theory used will be evaluated.


  • New School

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.

  • Oriental

  • Horror

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Colors and black & gray will be accepted.
  3. Must be a horror theme (scene or portrait).
  4. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  5. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, contrast, highlights, textures and technique.



Sunday, October 13, 2019 @ 6:00pm


  • Tattoo of the Day - Sunday

  1. Only fresh pieces will be accepted, started and finished that day.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos.
  3. All styles are accepted.
  4. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.


  • Full Color

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack, contrast, highlights, textures, and techniques. 
  3. Color Theory used will be evaluated.


  • Realism

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Color and black & gray will be accepted.
  4. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.


  • Full Sleeve (Arm or Leg)

  1. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  2. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  3. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, color, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.


  • Black & Gray

  1. All styles of black & gray will be accepted.
  2. Healed and fresh pieces will be accepted, but tattoos done at the convention will have a stronger value than a healed piece.
  3. Free-hand work need to show pictures of the creation step by step with photos. 
  4. Colors will not be accepted.  Only the use of black, gray, and white is permitted. 
  5. Checking for creativity, depth, volume, color pack (black, gray, or white), contrast, highlights, textures and technique.
